WE NEED YOUR HELP!
On May 23- 24 -25 2008, NYSDB (New York State Designer Blacksmiths) will be hosting a blacksmithing conference The Great Lakes International IronFest (GLIIF) with attendees and demonstrators from surrounding states and Canada. GLIIF is organized in cooperation with other blacksmithing affiliates of ABANA (Artist Blacksmith Association of North America) including Oil Valley (OVBA Titusville PA), Ontario (OABA), Pittsburgh (PABA) and Western Reserve (WRABA - Cleveland).
Attendance is expected to be around 200.
NYSDB is a not for profit organization registered in New York State. Our goal is to educate the public and members in the craft of blacksmithing and metal arts.
The conference is to be held at the Worthington Business Center, 1 Roberts St, Buffalo, NY (Kaisertown).
Donors
We are asking local businesses to help us by making product donations to our event. These donations will be used to raise money during the conference through Iron in the Hat and the Saturday evening Auction. Money raised will help to offset the cost of the event, as well as being used for educational purposes. In return for your donation we would be happy to display any advertising banners / literature / flyers / business cards / etc. that you provide us to promote your business.
For further information please feel free to contact either Marty Phillips 716-854-3782 or Bob Corneck at 716-741-4311 or email Bcorneck@Yahoo.com.
Vendors
Here is an opportunity to promote your business and sell directly to the art metalworking community. Because of the wide variety of techniques and skills necessary in producing metal artwork, our membership are interested in a diverse variety of metalworking, forming, heating and finishing techniques, as well as requiring a variety of raw materials. Services such as photography, promotion, art supplies, general business is also of interest.
All our vendor locations are under cover and there is outside space for mobile demonstration units. Since the majority of attendees will be 'overnighting' there is ample opportunity to interact during the conference.
We offer areas for table "set ups" as well as space for your own display booth. Size is not an issue, however we ask that you provide dimensional details of your display and if any power is required. Vendors are responsible for their own 'set ups' (lighting etc). A limited number of 8ft tables are available. 24-hour security patrols will be provided.
We will assist in promoting vendor demonstrations. Direct sales to attendees is encouraged, however individual vendors are responsible for collection of sales tax.
To register contact Marty Phillips 716-854-3782 or Bob Corneck 716 741 4311 Rcorneck@yahoo.com
A nominal donation of $30.00 is suggested for participating vendors.
Set up can commence 8:00am Friday May 23rd and take down should be completed by 12:00pm Monday 26th May.
Thanking you in advance for your help,
